Who's That Girl?

USING PAPER TO TO DISCOVER PAINTING’S MOST FAMOUS WOMEN

This self-directed project combines two passions: art history and working with paper. I am interested in discovering Western paintings’ most famous female subjects.

Working with paper allows me to simplify these pieces to their most essential attributes. Who were the real women in the paintings? I identify them using shape and color, and I call out their names (not the artist’s) in the captions.
